Volunteers are needed to help with all parts of The Great Pumpkin Event 2023 on Randall's Island:

• Ladder monitors in the pumpkin smash area

• Pumpkin Determination Station helpers

• Leaf pile rakers (we anticipate a small pile)

• Help exchanging meals for a pumpkin

• Paint scrap off / sticker removal helpers

• Coffee / Cookie refresh stations

This event is RAIN OR SHINE. Note there is limited F train service to and from Roosevelt Island - learn more here.

DRY Location: Manhattan Park, 30 River Road, Upper “Central Park” Lawn, Roosevelt Island (Across from Foodtown)

RAIN LOCATION: Motorgate ground floor lobby

Globally, pumpkins are a treasured food and we are offering more options for post-Halloween pumpkins this year. Nneji NYC eatery will help us celebrate the Pumpkin’s edible versatility. Exchange your good pumpkin for a delicious take-away meal including tasty Egusi, fonio and savory hand pies prepared by Nneji NYC(while supplies last) or cookies from Wengerd farms or a piece of cake by Andrea Jackson.

Visit the PUMPKIN DETERMINATION STATION to see if your pumpkin has a new life - is it SMUSHY/SMASHABLE or EDIBLE or in need of CLEAN-UP to peel off paint and remove stickers? Enjoy seed scooping via the Girl Scouts, too! Naturally, very smushy pumpkins can go to compost.
