Calling Master Composter trainees to help bag compost destined for communities across the five boroughs! NYC Compost Project hosted by The New York Botanical Garden is hosting this event in collaboration with Big Reuse. Gloves, tools, water, and non-stop groovy music will be provided. Mingling and dancing is encouraged!
This activity may involve some bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Bring a reusable water bottle. Please let the organizers know if you need any accommodations. There is one port-o-potty available and no parking is available at our site, only street parking in the vicinity.
DIRECTIONS: Take the F train to 21st Street - Queensbridge. Exit the train and walk South on 21st street, under the highway, to Queens Plaza South. Take a right, and walk West 4 blocks to Vernon Ave. The entrance to the composting area is at the corner of Queens Plaza South and Vernon Ave., directly under the bridge and across from the Ravel hotel.
