Join LES Ecology Center at La Plaza Cultural de Armando Perez Community Garden, a long-standing community garden with an impressive small-scale compost operation! Participants can expect to prepare feedstocks, turn active compost, and harvest and sift finished compost. This two hour event is split into two one-hour “shifts”. You are welcome to join for one shift or both. The link to the other shift can be found here.
***Please note that "The Sonocene" will be joining this activity. The Sonocene is a public humanities podcast that highlights ecological stories throughout New York City using intricate sound design. During this activity, they will be recording the sounds of participants using tools, moving equipment, and integrating compost within the park and garden space. All participants must sign a release form.***
Event led by NYC Compost Project Hosted by the LES Ecology Center in partnership with La Plaza Cultural de Armando Perez Community Garden.
