This year, the Lower East Side Ecology Center is hosting their Pumpkin Smash at La Plaza Cultural Community Garden in the East Village. Master Composter trainees will help with set up/break down and assist staff with family-friendly activities. We're talking about smash pits, worm bin exploration, seed ball making, cooking with food scraps, and more! If you're excited about connecting with the community and demonstrating these activities, we encourage you to volunteer with us! Please note that volunteers are required to attend an orientation on Nov 1 at 6:30pm via Zoom [this will also count towards your volunteer hours].
