Volunteer - Brooklyn

Volunteer to care for New York City street tree beds by applying locally produced compost! We will be meeting at Rockaway Parkway and Glenwood Rd (NW corner) in Canarsie, Brooklyn at 3:30pm. Gloves, tools, water, and light refreshments will be provided.

NYC Compost Project Hosted by the LES Ecology Center will be leading the street tree care component of the Rockaway Parkway Merchant Corridor Association Inc.'s Fall Cleaning and Greening Event. This event will also consist of street cleaning and an apple themed community tabling event. Volunteers will also be needed to collect apple cores for composting, promote the Rockaway Avenue Community Compost Site, and share general compost information.

Event led by NYC Compost Project hosted by the LES Ecology Center.

No mask or vaccination requirement. The entire work-day will be outdoors.

Registration is required to participate in this event. Please make sure to use the same name and email for all Master Composter Certificate Course events.
