Help the LES Ecology Center steward the green spaces of Tompkins Square Park! We're focusing on delittering our work areas, aerating and topdressing bare spots in grassy areas, and applying mulchy compost near trees and woody plants.
We recommend attending our Using Compost, Mulch, and Cover Crops Workshop being held at Tompkins Square Library from 11am-1:30pm this same day.
***Please note that "The Sonocene" will be joining this activity. The Sonocene is a public humanities podcast that highlights ecological stories throughout New York City using intricate sound design. During this activity, they will be recording the sounds of participants using tools, moving equipment, and integrating compost within the park and garden space. All participants must sign a release form.***
Event led by NYC Compost Project hosted by the LES Ecology Center.
Registration is required to participate in this event. Please make sure to use the same name and email for all Master Composter Certificate Course events.
