Take an in-depth tour of the various sized composting systems at Lehman College in the Bronx! Starting in 2009, Lehman College made the commitment to start composting. Attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look at Lehmans mid-scale compost site where the college processes all of their yard waste using mechanized systems. You'll also get a chance to view their community-scale compost system where they use human-power to process food scraps from the public in juwel bins. Finally, you'll learn about the "The Rocket", a machine that accelerates the natural decomposition process.
