Join us for a walking tour of small and mid-scale compost sites in green spaces along the Bronx River. First we'll stop at River Garden, one of the oldest community gardens in the Bronx and check out their 3-bin compost system. Then we'll walk to Starlight Park where we'll learn about the Bronx River Foodway- New York City’s only edible food forest- and their food scrap drop-off program. Finally, we'll go to Concrete Plant Park where attendees will learn about the different methods used to compost plant material in the park. Note, there is a 20 minute walk between River Garden and Starlight Park.
